Urban development

In Amsterdam former industrial sites are transformed into living and working areas. Like the Eastern Docklands, the Funen, the Amstelkwartier en the Oosterdokseiland. In other former industrial sites the transformation is still in their way, like in Amsterdam-Noord on Overhoeks, the Buiksloterham, the NDSM-wharf and the Houthavens.

Other developments in Amsterdam are the Zuidas and the recently made new isles on IJburg. On three isles around 10.000 persons are living and working. Another three isles will be manmade and will offer in total space for 9.000 dwellings, offices and culture- and sport facilities.
